Charity Partner Profiles
Future Living
Future Living is a Hertfordshire-based charity committed to breaking the cycle of domestic abuse by providing therapeutic support to victims and survivors. Their specialist group and individual therapy sessions for adults and children foster emotional healing, resilience, and a sense of community. Through early intervention and prevention work with young people, they aim to disrupt the cycle of abuse for future generations, while also collaborating with professionals to advocate for and support survivors in the present.
Shrepworth Wildlife Conservation Charity
Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity (SWCC) was established in March 2011 to help fundraise for important wildlife conservation work both at home and abroad. The organisation raises funds and educates visitors about species which are threatened with extinction, while also operating the SWCC Hedgehog Hospital.
Cambridge Women’s Aid
Cambridge Women’s Aid has provided dedicated and specialist services to women and children affected by domestic abuse since 1977. Their trained workers are highly experienced and provide women-led, expert, and confidential support. They also engage in community education and provide support to foster cultural change around equality and to end VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls).
Headway Luton
An acquired brain injury (ABI) can happen to anyone at any time. The effects on the individual as well as those around them can be life changing, but there is life after brain injury. Headway Luton’s mission is to help ABI survivors and others affected by their injury, in Luton and the south of Central Bedfordshire, live independent and fulfilling lives. They aim to achieve this by providing information and guidance, emotional and practical support, purposeful group activities and new opportunities through their day centres and community service.
Hope Into Action
Hope into Action believe the church is ideally placed to be at the forefront of addressing the need of homelessness and they partner with local churches to provide housing for those who temporarily find themselves without a home. The first Hope into Action home in Cambridge was opened in 2011 providing accommodation to single women in partnership with The C3 Church. Since then, they have grown to partner with 11 churches, providing 38 bed spaces in 13 homes across the Cambridge area.
It Takes A City
It Takes A City is a partnership providing a framework and mechanism to enable public, private and third sector bodies, and individuals, to work together in new ways to end rough sleeping. Kickstart Coffee is a not non profit coffee company that funds the education of over 250 children in Entebbe, Uganda through funding teachers salaries. Providing laptops and phones to the teachers enables them to complete training for their personal development and research topics to enhance their teaching.
Doorstep Library
Doorstep Library is a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children aged 0-11 across London who need their support. They recruit and train reading volunteers to visit families in pairs online or in person to run weekly reading sessions during term-time. Their unique home-based service enables them to find the most appropriate books for every child they visit and build relationships with the whole family. Cambridge Cyrenians
Cambridge Cyrenians have been supporting people in Cambridge who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness since 1970, empowering them to fulfil their potential, regardless of their background or past. They provide both short and long-stay flats and shared houses, following a ‘homes not hostels’ approach. They empower individuals (including those in employment, women, individuals in the criminal justice system, and older people) to take an active role in decisions about their housing and support them in building independent futures. Voluntary Community Action East Cambs (VCAEC) are a an independent, non-profit making charity based in Ely who encompass a volunteer centre and an infrastructure organisation which covers East Cambridgeshire. They own and facilitate two projects, a Social Car Scheme (door-to-door transport) and the Helping Hands Gardening Scheme (one-off/regular gardening) for the frail, elderly, disabled and isolated.
Concrete Rose
Concrete Rose Collective CIC provides supported lodgings placements for vulnerable young people (16-21) across Cambridgeshire and beyond. Working alongside a network of hosts we offer safe, nurturing and therapeutic accommodation to young people who are facing significant challenges including those in, and leaving, care unaccompanied asylum seeking children, young parents and those at risk of homelessness.
Safe Soulmates
Safe Soulmates want everyone to have the opportunity to find friends and/or social opportunities in a safe way, free from ‘real life’ and ‘online’ abuse. The service operates in Cambridge, Peterborough, St Neots, Huntingdon and Ely, They also deliver Safe and Inclusive Places training to the hospitality and retail sectors to train people on how they can be inclusive of their neurodivergent customers and staff. Wintercomfort supports individuals who are homeless or vulnerably housed in Cambridge. Wintercomfort is the only information, advice, training and support centre in Cambridge for those who are sleeping rough, staying in local night shelters, living in temporary accommodation or vulnerably housed. ATLEU is the only UK charity that provides specialist, holistic legal advice to survivors of trafficking and slavery. Street Pastors patrol every Saturday night from 10pm to 3am in and around the city centre, whatever the weather. Care4Calais
Care4Calais is a volunteer-run charity delivering essential aid and support to people seeking asylum in the UK and Northern France. We advocate for a welcoming and inclusive attitude towards people seeking asylum. Operating year round, our focus is to provide clothing, activities, advice and social support to people seeking asylum in the UK.
H.E.L.P
H.E.L.P help refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable people within Cambridgeshire, through a variety of free services such as English lessons, social activities, mental health support, translation, help with forms and basic essentials such as food, toiletries, clothing, shoes, baby equipment and bikes to get to work or college.
KidsOut
KidsOut is a charity dedicated to supporting some of the UK’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children with positive and happy experiences. Each year we help bring smiles to the faces of over 20,000 children, by way of day trips, fun experiences, toys and books to those who might otherwise have none. In collaboration with Women’s Aid Federation refuge and over 100 independent refuges, KidsOut supports approximately 20,000 children a year who, with their mothers have fled domestic violence to seek safety in refuges and safe houses.

Ablaze exists to tackle inequality of opportunity for young people in the West of England region. We do this by utilising the skills and commitment of business volunteers to provide essential support, insight and guidance for the young people we serve. Cambridgeshire Digital Partnership
Cambridgeshire Digital Partnership (CDP) is an open network that meets quarterly. They welcome representation from across sectors, including voluntary organisations, statutory sector, businesses, and social enterprises. If you work or volunteer in digital inclusion or support people who may be digitally excluded, this network is for you. CDP is delivered by Cambridge Council for Voluntary Service, soon to be Support Cambridgeshire, and is managed in partnership with Connecting Cambridgeshire. Steel Bones
Steel Bones helps amputee families live life to the full, helped by a proactive supportive peer community. The support they provide empowers the amputee and their family and friends helping in moments of stress and crisis. Cambridge Women’s Resource Centre are a small charity that helps a range of women some of who are very vulnerable. They help in a range of ways from domestic violence, homelessness and housing support, health and addiction, sex working, grants, employability, group work, one on one support and our birthing doula programme. They aim to help get women back on their feet and thriving whist enabling them to maintain their independence.

They provide information, advice and guidance on a wide range of work and learning opportunities. They can help you at any stage of your journey, including job search, career choices and gaining skills, qualifications, and experience. They offer a range of courses and qualifications to suit your level, and they can help you to gain access to the digital world through offering devices, data and training.
Simon Community Scotland
Simon Community Scotland is the largest provider of homelessness services in Scotland. They want everyone to have a safe place to live and the support they need. They believe digital inclusion plays a major role in this journey. From connecting with friends and family and listening to music, to accessing vital health and wellbeing services, learning and seeking employment, digital connectivity is crucial in today’s world. They want to ensure everyone we support has these opportunities by providing the right device, connection, and tailored support.
Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign
CRRC is a registered charity supporting the resettlement of refugees in the Cambridge area. They provide a wide range of practical support to resettled refugee families, working closely with Cambridge City and Cambridgeshire County Councils and other local stakeholders.

Realife Trust
Realife is a Charity that supports different grass roots projects. They support adults with learning disabilities to run their own club night, they run a Wellbeing Hub and offer outreach events to those who wouldn’t normally be able to afford such things, they support a group called Noisy Women who are a collective of neurodiverse improvisers. They are also in the process of expanding their Wellbeing Hub so that they can also offer a myriad of events, workshops and sessions to a broader diversity of people including young disadvantaged adults in the form of music production.

Swansea MAD is a grassroots, anti-poverty, anti-racist, pro-equality, pro-environmental, inclusive youth and community charity intolerant of discrimination and injustice. Driven by the advancement of social justice and equity, they work in coalition with young people and communities who are marginalised by systemic oppression to dismantle structures which support discrimination.
RefuNet
RefuNet matches online volunteer tutors with refugees and asylum seekers. Teachers help with ESOL, Academic English, Maths and Science. RefuNet students are from a big mix of countries and all ages. Some are looking to pass exams to help them re-qualify, and some are working to improve their general English to help them integrate into society.
Something To Look Forward To
Something To Look Forward To exists to improve the lives of people affected by cancer poverty by providing positive respite opportunities to those financially affected by their cancer diagnosis. They provide donated ‘gifts’ and ‘experiences’ via their charity website to people of any age, with any cancer diagnosis across the UK. These include free breaks in holiday cottages; restaurant meals; a day at the races; hotel stays; theatre tickets; beauty treatments; tickets for attractions… the list is endless.
