Digital Inclusion Outreach Launch in Peterborough

Sustainable Tech 4 Good (ST4G) proudly attended and supported the launch of the Cambridge Online Peterborough Digital Inclusion Project at an event at Sand Martin House, Bittern Way in July. The event was attended by the local MP and other dignitaries, the City Council, local press and community partners, as well as CityFibre (sponsor of the project).

Digital exclusion, or a lack of digital access, is a growing issue that affects people in our increasingly digital world, impacting their ability to communicate, access essential services, healthcare, education and shopping, negatively impacting life chances and compounding disadvantage. To participate fully in the advantages brought by digital, people require digital devices, data connectivity and the requisite skills to use them.

Cambridge Online has a long track record of helping people with digital skills. Sustainable Tech 4 Good partners with Cambridge Online to increase the number of digital devices available for them to donate to people in need in the community. ST4G securely data erases and refurbishes excess tech from businesses and organisations, enabling Cambridge Online to access quality refurbished tech to support their clients with devices for digital inclusion.

The Digital Inclusion Project is an important 12-month programme by Cambridge Online, working with the Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service and other partners, to help address digital exclusion in Peterborough. It will provide practical assistance to residents to enhance their digital skills, with regular drop-in sessions across the city, where people can access free advice and guidance.

We are asking businesses in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire to attend this important event, and to support our partnership by having their excess tech securely handled by ST4G, with full CSR and Sustainability Reporting and Data Erasure Certification. Your support will help enable the success of the Cambridge Online Peterborough Digital Inclusion Project, supporting people in need in your local community.
