We have supplied 2754 devices to-date for children and their families. We can take for granted and assume that children in the UK have devices and access to them, but 1 in 5 children in the UK are being digitally excluded. Around a million children and young people don’t have proper access to devices or the internet at home, according to research carried out by Lloyds Bank. Their research also showed that around 700,000 UK kids do not have the skills or devices that they need to do their homework.
UK schools themselves spend close to £900 million on technology a year (Blundell, 2019), but with a common theme in UK schools – less budget with further to stretch – schools are regularly feeling the squeeze in education funding. It is becoming increasingly important to be able to do more, with less. So, we have a great need to supply both families and schools with sustainable affordable tech to help children fully access educational resources, and schools, so they can deliver those resources. If you need affordable back to school devices please browse our Tech 4 Change Shop. Or, if you are an organisation or school that needs refurbished devices please get in touch.
