Sustainable tech 4 Good – What we do

What we do

We tackle digital inequality and negative environmental impacts, by repair and repurposing of surplus technology, whilst taking the headache and costs out of tech disposal.

We work with businesses and other organisations, taking their excess redundant tech after IT refresh, and either re-purposing and deploying it through charities and local authorities to people in need or we sell (high spec and server/networking that still holds value) to eco, socially-conscious consumers and businesses. You benefit, the planets benefits, society benefits… A win-win for all.

As expert repairers, we achieve high yields (80%) from excess technology, with items beyond economical repair broken down for spares, making more devices available for those in need.

Our background spans nearly 30 years within the Data Services sector via our sister company Veritas Digital Services, therefore we are also able to offer any business a raft of ST4G Tech Services covering IT hardware, server and datacentres, insolvency restructuring solutions, data recovery, certified data destruction & shred, tape storage repair and recovery and screen industries (Film and TV).

Our impact to-date

“Access to the internet on a device that is bigger than a phone is a game changer.”

“We set up a homework club last year for children in the area facing extreme poverty and also put a PC in our community hub for those unfortunately homeless to use. Recently we opened another hub and have placed a second PC there, again for people who are homeless to use.
Having the means to use a tablet or PC is absolutely essential in this day and age, for children it helps them to be included and reduces barriers to learning and for adults helps them to complete application forms, check benefit journals, search for help and support or just keep connected with social media. The difference is extremely positive and essential.”

“”The delivery of a Laptop for Peer RD will really help with his connection with local services especially access to ‘How Are You Cambridge’ and the Recovery College Wellbeing Hub.
He has a number of health conditions and lives with social anxiety so being able to access online support groups will help with his Social Inclusion.”
He wants to engage with online training courses to help him understand some of this Neuro-Diversity and sees this as a way of helping his ability to better understand himself and hence manage his day to day activities.
The divice has allowed him connection with local services and training opportunities, that hitherto he was unable to do.”
