Sustainable Tech 4 Good - Digital Inclusion happy woman holding and looking at laptop wearing yellow on a yellow background

January & February Donations

We’ve been busy making an impact at the beginning of this year. Midlife360 CIC, the Refugee Council, Cambridge Women’s Aid, It Takes A City, Abbey People CIO and Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign (CRRC) were just some of the organisations where our refurbished tech has increased digital inclusion.

“We have used the three tablets to help in a research project we are doing into the barriers faced by women in midlife when accessing the workplace. Using the tablets has allowed us to host a questionnaire on the tablet and taken the questionnaire to the high street. Without this help we would have had to print copies or use our phones which wouldn’t be nearly as professional or eco. The tablets have been a huge boost to the work we are doing. Thank you.”

“Those we support, who have predominantly been rough sleeping before accessing our services, particularly our Crossways Winter Provision, have often endured multiple disadvantage for many years. The devices that we have received from Sustainable Tech 4 Good enable those receiving our support to stay in touch with other services and agencies vital to their housing journey. In addition the devices can enable them to maintain contact with other members of their support network, including family and friends from whom they may have become estranged, and rekindle vital relationships.”

“We have been supported with a laptop and phones to enable the Haven to run efficiently, supporting homeless women overnight. The items have been invaluable in keeping the service running and keeping our staff connected with the women we support. For example, our ‘Haven phone’ is used as a point of contact for people using the service, ensuring that we have a contact number for when we’re open. Additionally, the laptop provided has been used by staff and service users enabling women to access essential documentation and do any necessary research.”

“The majority of women using our services, do not have safe devices to use. Most services they require now require technology to access them. The two tablets and laptops will be very helpful.”
