That’s where we come in. Deleting data is not enough – you need to securely data-erase.
To protect yourself from inadvertent data leaks, comply with GDPR, and protect the recipients of donated devices, all data should be erased to HMG Infosec 5 enhanced standard.
Our data erasure suite uses bespoke racks, made in-house. This equipment utilises the Government standard for data erasure, HMG Infosec 5 enhanced, the same standard employed by the widely-used Blancco software.
The Government enhanced standard requires a three-pass data erasure process, one pass of “zeros”, one pass of “ones” then a random pass with a verify element. Our custom-made data erasure racks use algorithms that adhere to this standard.
Any disk that fails due to a bad write or a bad verify, even to a single sector, is deemed to have failed and will be degaussed using our certified degausser (Verity Systems SV91m).
Our bespoke systems can also access and unlock hidden areas on a disk (HPA, DCO); these areas are removed prior to the data erasure process. Failure to remove these areas can potentially lead to data remnants after erasure. This extensive process is necessary to ensure no data remains on any device.
We are ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited, are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and have been approved by the FCA for data services within the insolvency sector. We maintain a £1m indemnity insurance policy.
